SHORT BIO
Constantinos Giaginis has received a Chemistry degree from the Department of Chemistry, University of Athens, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmacy, University of Athens, and a second Ph.D. degree from the Medical School, University of Athens. He is an Associate Professor in the field of Human Nutrition, Wellness and Health in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of the Aegean, Greece.
His research focuses on the fields of human nutrition, wellness and public health, nutritional pathophysiology, nutritional epidemiology, and food toxicology. His current research deals with the potential effects of nutritional habits in several pathophysiological disease states, such as obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. His research interest also includes the assessment of physicochemical properties, such as lipophilicity, solubility, and ionization of drugs, natural bioactive compounds and toxic compounds in relation with their biological activity or toxicity, as well as their Absorption/Distribution/Metabolism/Excretion (ADME) parameters and their pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic profile. He has currently published ~165 peer reviewed journal and conference papers with h-index=40 and ~ 4822 citations according to Google Scholar, coordinating also ~200 peer reviewed oral or poster presentations in international and national congresses.
