SHORT CV

Fotios Tsetsos graduated with a BSc degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics by the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. His interest for genetics led him to obtain his PhD diploma from the same institution in 2017. He has been a visiting researcher at the Center of Human Genetics Research of Massachussetts General Hospital, and worked as a graduate research assistant at Purdue University. For his doctoral studies he had the honor of receiving scholarships by the Bodossaki and the Fulbright foundations in Greece, and for his post-doctoral research a scholarship by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation.

He has been a part of the GR-DIAGENES consortium, a national consortium for the elucidation of the genetic architecture Type 2 Diabetes and its comorbidities in the Greek population, of the ELIXIR-GR, the greek national node of the ESFRI European RI ELIXIR, and the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium, the largest international consortium dedicated to the elucidation of the genetic component on neuropsychiatric disorders. He has been an active participant in analyses on the Greek population in terms of medical and historical genetics. He has been a University Fellow at the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of the Aegean, teaching the courses Biochemistry I and Pharmaceutical and Aromatic Plants.

Until today he has authored 29 papers in international journals and 3 book chapters. His published record pertains to metabolic disorders, neuropsychiatric disorders and population genetics.
